Mishra Raas Dance of Gujarat Lokrang Jaipur

Mishra Raas is a popular folk dance form of Gujarat, India. It is a relatively new dance form, having emerged in the early 1960s. It is believed to have been created by a group of students from Bhavnagar University who were commissioned by the Government of Gujarat to form a cultural dance troupe to perform at the Republic Day celebrations in Delhi.

Mishra Raas is a fusion of two traditional Gujarati folk dances: Dandiya Raas and Garba. It is performed by both men and women in two circles, with decorated sticks called dandiyas in their hands. The dance is characterized by its intricate steps, graceful movements, and energetic rhythms.

Mishra Raas is typically performed to the accompaniment of traditional Gujarati folk music. The music is played on a variety of instruments, including the dhol (drum), the jhaal (cymbals), and the shehnai (oboe).

Mishra Raas is a very popular dance form in Gujarat and is performed at various festivals and celebrations throughout the year. It is also a popular dance form among Gujarati diaspora communities around the world.
