Bharmal ki Chhatris

Bharmal ki Chhatris, Amer – Jaipur.
Bharmal ki Chhatris, Amer – Jaipur. This place is near Amer on the main road only towards right side approx 1km. on Amer to Delhi highway from Amer. These 'chhatris' or cenotaphs are not so famous as compared to other cenotaphs of Jaipur. But here is a group of 'chhatris' or cenotaphs in different shapes and sizes I found them Interesting. I don’t have much of the details of this place but I think they are one of the oldest cenotaphs around Jaipur. Some are twelve sided, some circular and others square with portico's on their four sides. All of them have domes crowned by finials. Their ceilings are very interesting - concentric rings of overlapping stones, with beautiful pendants hanging from their centres.

After the seat of power was moved to Jaipur, this was abandoned and a new spot established at Gaitor. Though one can still see a carved pillar here and a hint of wall painting there, few of the cenotaphs lie in ruins. But on the whole it is a Nice place.

As I said these are not so Popular so you will hardly find any Visitor there but if you are interested in these kind of places then it’s a very nice place to visit and it will give you a very good opportunity for Creative Photography. . . Recommended.
