Lal Kothi Sabji Mandi, Jaipur. One of the biggest Vegetable Market of Jaipur.

Lal Kothi Sabji Mandi, Jaipur. is one of the biggest wholesale and retail fruit and vegetable market of Jaipur. Vegetables and Fruits at Lal Kothi Sabji Mandi are of good quality at best price. Little bargain and you may get a better deal. Lal Kothi Sabji Mandi was developed nearly 35 years ago, now much cleaner than earlier days. But clean Hygenic public services are not there as far as I know and you can't pay digitally so keep your cash loaded. Parking can be a problem and market is bit congested. Still it is the best place to buy fresh vegetables and fruits of many varieties at reasonable price. Early Morning visit is recommended for freshest vegetables and fruits.

Yesterday was our vegetable buying day, since this Corona Virus Chaos I had to do this Job with my Wife once a week. Before Lock Down my Father used to do this, He loves to buy Vegetables and Fruits it is his Favorite Hobby or should I say Passion. For precaution we asked him to stay home and relax since the day Lock Down in India was announced but today all chains were broken He said that he will go and go. First we tried to stop him then later we surrendered under his persistence but made him wear Mask, Gloves and all the Precautions possible.

Lal Kothi Sabji Mandi, Jaipur. is close to our home and many of these Vegetable vendors here know my Father very well, as he entered many of the vendors greeted him. As my father and my wife were there to buy stuff I got free time and chance to take few mobile shots. Below you will see few Pictures of Lal Kothi Sabji Mandi, Jaipur. We will start from my Father’s Favorite Vendor and now Friend “Chanda Lal Jadam” we call him ChandaJi he comes and brings his Vegetables from Chomu a small town near Jaipur. Chomu is famous for the Good Taste Fruits and Vegetables which are grown there in Sweet and Fresh Water. The Fruits and Vegetables which he brings to sell are really good and you can feel it by looking at them only. So if you are at Lal Kothi Sabji Mandi, Jaipur and looking for Right Vendor try his shop.

Happy Towel Day, Fellow Hitchhikers. . . :)

Happy Towel Day - Mr. Tanuj Vijay shot taken on 06-March-2020 - Kolkata.

Today is 62nd day of India Lock Down and International Towel Day.

Towel Day is celebrated every 25th of May as a tribute by fans of the late author Douglas Adams. On this day, fans carry a towel with them to demonstrate their love for the books and the author Douglas Adams. Towel day was first celebrated on 25-May-2001, two weeks after the death of Douglas Adams at the age of 49, when a group of fans decided to honor his memory by celebrating the humble - yet most essential - piece of cloth Towel. The towel is a reference to Douglas Adams’s popular science fiction comedy series "The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy".

A towel, it says, is about the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitchhiker can have. Partly it has great practical value. You can wrap it around you for warmth as you bound across the cold moons of Jaglan Beta; you can lie on it on the brilliant marble-sanded beaches of Santraginus V, inhaling the heady sea vapours; you can sleep under it beneath the stars which shine so redly on the desert world of Kakrafoon; use it to sail a miniraft down the slow heavy River Moth; wet it for use in hand-to-hand-combat; wrap it round your head to ward off noxious fumes or avoid the gaze of the Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal (such a mind-bogglingly stupid animal, it assumes that if you can't see it, it can't see you — daft as a brush, but very very ravenous); you can wave your towel in emergencies as a distress signal, and of course dry yourself off with it if it still seems to be clean enough.

More importantly, a towel has immense psychological value.

- Douglas Adams, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

All you need to do to take part in Towel Day celebration is to “Don’t Worry and Carry A Towel With You.”

The above Picture is of Mr. Tanuj Vijay Friend & The Director / Model of a company Cosa Nostraa it is a Jaipur based company and they deals in Men’s Accessorise. I was with him in Kolkata for a campaign shoot for Cosa Nostraa with our team. Luckily or Unluckily for him, we were sharing the hotel room. The problem of sharing a room with a Photographer / Blogger is that they don’t miss a chance of a good picture or a story. So was the case here, I was sitting at the opposite side of the beds and reading the text on my mobile. He came out of the bathroom in towel, his clothes were on the bed and it strike to me that Towel Day is coming soon. As I faced the mobile camera towards him he got conscious but still I got this shot which I like. We were already running late for the shoot and after that had the hectic day and so on . . . so this incident just got washed out from his mind. Interesting thing is that he does not check my blog and I had properly tagged this picture.

Now I am waiting for the day when this picture will get indexed in Google with his name Mr. Tanuj Vijay. Someone might going to tell him about the picture or he himself will find out but his reaction at that time would be priceless . . . :p

10 Street Photography Shots from the Streets of Jaipur on the 58th day of India Lockdown.

Yesterday was the 58th day of India Lockdown and the Day started with me waking up and finally deciding enough is enough, there were lot of pending work which were needed to be done urgently. So after having heavy lunch I headed toward completing the works at the different locations of the city “With all the Proper Precautions” and accompanied with my Camera. Street photography while completing your pending work is one of my favorite things.

One thing I realized from Yesterday’s Street photography is that everything is changed and I think Street photography will never going to be the same again. For example before this Corona Virus chaos when I use to do Street Photography many of the times I use to comfort my subject with my eyes and smile only and when I use to see from the face expression of my subject that he or she is relaxed I use to execute my shot. But today me and my subjects both were covered under the face mask most of the time. From the expression of the guy under the Coca Cola Umbrella in the first picture I can clearly see that he was annoyed that why am I clicking his Picture? He had not been able to see my thanking smile which I later realized was covered under the face mask. The style in which I use to take Street Portraits will also change because prior to Corona Virus chaos I use to emphasis on the face and eyes expression while clicking Street Portraits. Now this Face Mask which will be a part of everyone's dressing will always come in between.

Yes life finds a way and so will be the Street Photographers.

The City Palace, Jaipur.

The City Palace, Jaipur.
The City Palace, Jaipur.

The City Palace, Jaipur, which includes the Chandra Mahal and Mubarak Mahal palaces and other buildings, is a palace complex.

It was the seat of the Maharaja of Jaipur, the head of the Kachwaha Rajput clan. The Chandra Mahal palace now houses a museum but the greatest part of it is still a royal residence. The palace complex, which is located northeast of the centre of the Jaipur city, incorporates an impressive and vast array of courtyards, gardens and buildings. The palace was built between 1729 and 1732, initially by Sawai Jai Singh II, the ruler of Amber. He planned and built the outer walls, and later additions were made by successive rulers right up to the 20th century. The credit for the urban layout of the city and its structures is attributed to two architects namely, Vidyadar Bhattacharya, the chief architect in the royal court and Sir Samuel Swinton Jacob, apart from the Sawai himself who was a keen architectural enthusiast. The architects achieved a fusion of the Shilpa shastra of Indian architecture with Rajput, Mughal and European styles of architecture.

Hand Pulled Rickshaw (Hath Rickshaw) The Picture was taken near Howrah Bridge, Kolkata.
Just few days before India Lockdown I was in Kolkata. My mom is from Kolkata and I had visited Kolkata many times in childhood, now it’s more of a business trips. I just Love Kolkata or I would say Calcutta, I don’t know why but Calcutta sounds and feels like something mine, somewhere I belong too and Kolkata does not. I have many stories from Kolkata which I will share in future but today I want to talk about Hand Pulled Rickshaw (Hath Rickshaw).

As you can see Hand Pulled Rickshaw (Hath Rickshaw) is a mode of transport where a person pulls the two wheeled cart with one or two passengers while running. I don’t want to talk about that it is good or bad or about its history or bla bla bal. . . . it all is everyone’s personal perspective.

I want to talk about is what a beautiful thing Hand Pulled Rickshaws is as a point of view of Photographer. Hand Pulled Rickshaw (Hath Rickshaw) are left in Kolkata only, in India. I think we are seeing last of these and within few years they will vanish from the streets of Kolkata. These are just three pic’s of Hand Pulled Rickshaw (Hath Rickshaw) which I took on my last trip of Kolkata but I would so love to be in Kolkata in Rainy Season and click lot and lot of Pictures of these Hath Rickshaw pullers and their Hath Rickshaws.

Calcutta The City of Joy is still the Paradise for Street Photographers, If you love Street Photography then Calcutta is the must place to visit.

10 of the best Bird Photography Shots.

10 of the best Bird Photography Shots Jaipur
Took This Shot on 8-April-2020
As a Second Part of “CoronaVirus Pandemic & Lockdown” Photography Series I would like to share 10 of the best Birds Photographs according to me which I took in this India Lockdown period from my home.

Let’s start with a Quote of - Eric Berne “The moment a little boy is concerned with which is a jay and which is a sparrow, he can no longer see the birds or hear them sing.”

Portraits of My Wife

CoronaVirus Pandemic - Lock down and 10 Black and White Portraits of My Wife, Jaipur.

The Chaos of Coronavirus started in India from the starting of March 2020. On 7march when I was coming from Kolkata to Jaipur it hit me hard when I saw Majority of passengers were wearing mask at the airport and in the flight. The information about the Coronavirus was less and fear was more, if someone was coughing or sneezing in the flight people were looking at him or her like he is surely a positive case of Coronavirus. Anyhow the panic increased day by day and a new term Social Distancing got introduced in our life. Initially from 11th March 2020 we ourselves started practicing Social Distancing and Isolation. On 22nd March came the “Janta Curfew” for one day by the Government of India then on 24th March 2020 came the announcement of complete country lockdown by the Government of India under The Leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

One Interesting thing I realized is that if you are passionate about something and you are free to do it then no matter if you are in Lockdown or Lockup or Wherever but you will never be bored. So I was stuck at home and had no models or subjects or street to go and click portraits. . . . then an idea came to me and I made my family members my subject. In this post I am sharing 10 selected Black and White Portraits of my Wife which I had took from 12th March 2020 till Now.

A pleasant surprise from Nature.

These are Suppose to be Summers with Scorching Heat. Generally I take these kinds of Pictures in Rainy Season but because of the Western Disturbance in India. Jaipur is facing gusty winds accompanied with lightning and rains from few days. . . . Which was a Beautiful Welcoming break from all the chaos that was cussed by the Coronavirus?

The Meteorological Department said south-west monsoon normally enters Rajasthan by June 15 but this year it will be 10 days late and will hit Rajasthan around 25 June and Jaipur by 1 July 2020.

Today is 52day of Lockdown in India, the total number of confirmed Coronavirus cases in India has crossed 80,000 and over 2,500 deaths from Coronavirus. The economy is at its worst; Millions of people lost their Jobs, n number of Businesses shutdown completely, millions of people are facing the danger of depression. Don’t know the decision of Lockdown was right or wrong but surely we have to pay a heavy price in name of Coronavirus.

Sand Storm at Jaipur

Sand Storm at Jaipur
Jaipur was hit by a Sand Storm today followed by little shower to clean the environment. The above picture was taken at 5:30 P.M. from my room’s window, near World Trade Park, Jaipur. Today is 43rd day of India’s Lock Down and things are starting to look Ugly. Government cannot keep people in Locks for forever and Corona Virus is not going anywhere.
